I have french eloquenc, but can anybody tell me asci values of those french commas and apostrophes, or good place to find something about writing french specific characters on non-french keyboard?
Or hov to get french keyboard (keymap, not physical keyboard - using laptop).
Thanks,

Not sure what operating system you have, but all you need do on xp, is go to control panel, regional settings, then language, in there you can set it up to use a number of different keyboard layouts, french among them. if i'm not mistaken there are a number of french layouts to choose from, but it's been a while so i'm a bit hazy on that one. also not sure about vista, but should imagine it's fairly similar. perhaps someone with vista can help out if need be.

hope it helps anyway,
cheers,
Simon

I'm not too sure, but as Simon said, you can go into control panel and do it that way. I know sighted people can do it really quickly with the mouse, but it's a bit annoying with jaws going up to insert and symbols or whatever menu it is in office 2007 now to do that for every other letter.

Hi all.
You can write French accents using the qwerty keyboard and turning the numlock on and using the ALT key plus 3 digit number combinations for each accent. A link to accents for different language combinations is below.

Just another suggestion...

If you're using a quirty keyboard, control+apostrophe should give you the accent egue (or accute), control+shift+6 will give u a circumflex accent, control+grauv (the key just to the left of the number 1, at least on my keyboard) will give u the 'grauv' accent. To get the C cidilla, press control+comma, release and then press C. Not sure if this helps you, but that's what works for me.
happy Christmas!
